We
believe that sponsorship of people and events is very important.
Not only because of the advertising we potentially get out of it,
but because it allows a lot of events to take place that otherwise
would be impossible. In some cases it supports good causes but in
others it just helps an individual or group to fulfil their potential.
For
Charity events like the Rhino Charge or Mac Challenge we have a
few rules:
1. We will only sponsor one team in any given event. This will be
on a first come, first served basis.
2. We will not sponsor the same team on two consecutive years.
3. We prefer to give goods & services than hard cash.
This year, we are sponsoring the following teams / events:
| Jez
& The House of Flying Spanners - Ladoga 2009 |
Jez,
his friends and wife (Mrs Jez), working on a tiny budget from
little more than a garage have put together a truly impressive
vehicle 'Petal' to compete in Ladoga 2006, 7, 8 & 9, one
of the toughest, most grueling events in the world.
The HoFS team achieved 4th place in Proto Class.

| Nick
Watts & James Trembath and Guy Radford - Rogue Vogue |
|
Nick built
this Range Rover based hybrid on a shoestring - although,
to be fair he is a Blacksmith. It incorporates some very impressive
design and technology - and the odd X-Eng part!
In 2008, Nick & James Trembath, his co-driver entered
the Howling Wolf Challenge (also sponsored by X-Eng) organised
by the All Wheel Drive Club. This was the first 'grown up'
series of events they had entered - but managed to come 4th
in class and 6th overall out of 69 enterants.
Now in
2009 with a newly built truck (based on a Suzuki Vitara),
they have achieved a 3rd and 1st in class positions - which
is just brilliant.
