Hardened Red or Blue Anodized corrosion resistant coating. Can be removed with a multi-tool, almost any spanner, a 27mm wheel wrench or even a stick! Compatible with all vehicles with a 1/2"BSP thread     It is supposed to be possible to remove the original plastic plug with a dog-killer (BIG) screwdriver or with a spark plug spanner. If you have tried it, you'll know it usually winds up a bit chewed looking. Removing this plug is the easiest and best way to fill your radiator and to bleed the air out of the system. It's a mystery then why manufacturers make it so difficult. With an X-Eng X-Cap fitted - it's as easy as could be.
