Only X-Arms and X-Joints give you up to 35 degrees of unrestricted axle droop, 10 degrees of axle rise and unlimited rotation. This gives an astonishing maximum of 45 degrees of unrestricted articulation to an axle!

The X-Joint works just lke your Hip Joint. It has a 60mm diameter ball made from EN8 Steel cushoned inside a specially moulded Shore 'A' 70 PU Elastomer bush. The bush is then housed in a pair of Anodised, CNC machined HE15 grade structural Aluminium cups.

We have even tested them on portal axles - and they are plenty strong enough!

The PU bushing gives a similar amount of cushoning to the original chassis bush helping minimise transmitted axle vibration.

The arms are adjustable length so you can compensate for mis-allignment of your differential due to a suspension lift.

The cups bolt through the existing holes in your chassis radius arm mount - so absolutely no modification is necessary to the chassis.

The X-Joint is greasable and fully re-buildable. It requires little mantainence and it will give you years of service with exceptional performance.

We have rigorously tested the joints and arms with over 2000 miles of on and off road use including use on Paul Wightman's truck on The Argyl Challenge 2006 - recognised as one of the toughest.

In January 2007 we took the joints to Universal Materials Testing based at Sunderland University to get some accurate figures on the properties of the joint. The results are on video here: Universal Materials Testing

X-Joints are available individually and as a part of one of our X-Flex kits.

X-Arm Kit

The kit includes a pair of X-Joints with ready made, heavy duty radius arms to fit a Land Rover Defender, Range Rover and Discovery. The arms are made from 38mm diameter, heavy walled CDS tube. Welded on one end is a threaded boss in to which an X-Joint will screw and on the other end is a high articulation, offset bush. The offset allows extreme travel without having to modify your axle bush hangers at all.

Each arm is supplied with a genuine Land Rover bush for the axle end which we believe pretty hard to beat for longevity and performance.

X-Flex Complete Kit

As above, but including a pair of our X-Spring, telescopic spring extenders as well as an adjustable wide angle A-Frame Ball Joint. This kit maximises the travel on your rear axle whilst maintaining ground pressure on both wheels
