X-Tend allows you to select the right shock absorbers for your vehicle and application rather than the right ones to fit your shock mounts. They are adjustable to suit any shock absorber with a ring type top mount from +2" (11" Travel) to +6" (15" Travel).

They are supplied with an adaptor sleeve to allow fitting of shocks with 12mm / 1/2" bore through the eye (such as Fox Shox and some Pro-Comp) or 16mm as are standard for Land Rover (most Terrafirma Shocks).

Unlike other extended mountings, they are fully compatible with Td5 vehicles and do not require the re-location of the fuel filter.

The mounts are formed from CDS Tube, welded to a 10mm thick, Laser Cut chassis plate. The adjustable mounting 'ladder' is precision cut, formed then double-welded to the CDS Tube. This construction gives unparalleled strength and drurability. The kit is supplied complete with new High Tensile chassis mounting bolts.

The most common reason for shock absorbers to fail is one of the ends breaking off. Although common opinion holds that they are being pulled off by over-extension, in fact it is due to over compression. The shock reaches the limit of it's compressed travel before the axle has touched the bump stop. In this case, the shock is being your bump-stop! The compressive forces can reach several tons.

X-Tend allows you to mount the top of the shock high enough that when the axle is sitting on the bump stop, the shock has not run out of travel, thereby protecting your investment.
